The club helped with the establishment of the
first Coquitlam Public Library and acted as a catalyst in developing
a public library board.
At present, the club provides bursaries to the secondary schools in School District #43, annual bursaries at Douglas College, namely the Millennium Bursary, and an annual CFUW Coquitlam Bursary at Simon Fraser University through an endowment fund established by the club in 1996. In recognition of the award to the university, the club was welcomed to the Thelma Finlayson Society, an association of friends of the university, which provides philanthropic support. The club is very proud of the honor especially as Thelma Finlayson is one of the founding members of CFUW Coquitlam.
